Michael's Daily Wisdom

Role Models

All of us in our lifetime growing up had many people who we looked up to for inspiration and one day we envisioned ourselves to become just like them. However, we get caught up so much in their lives, we cannot truly focus on our own life. For example, we would watch favorite movies, either on t.v. or in person, watch how actors/actresses portray themselves so we can act like them, and even buy clothes from a celebrity to look like them. If we invest in these types of behaviors, we will forget our own selves. In Ephesians 5:1-2, the scripture tells us, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children; and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma,” meaning all of us should be more like God and walk in his ways, just as Jesus did when he sacrificed his life in order for us to have a better life. That in itself is a role model we should always follow, no the outside world.

Not recognizing who we are and have no purpose in life, is not what God wants for us. Being a role model for others is very important and if we strive to make an impact on someone else’s life, we are doing the Lord’s work. We are here to be the light of the world, not to be of the world. We are to let our light shine so others can follow. That does not mean we have to try to act religious and put on a front in front of others, but we are to imitate Christ and walk in his ways. Allowing others to see our light can lead others to find Christ for themselves. For those who want to follow Christ, God is going to use you to save some people in your life. The best testimony is not what we say to others, it is how we live our lives.

As God’s people, we should not look up to people in this world, but only to God because he created all of us to be like him, not any man from this world to inhibit us from our purpose. So, my dear friends, it is really important that we imitate Christ and be the light of the world. Follow God and great things will happen in your life. I hope this message vindicate you to act in your life and not depend on people of this world. You are the ones to chart your own destiny, not somebody dictating your life for you.

Remember, God will bless you more abundantly!
